Low clutch pressure.

Low oil level.

Fill to proper level.

Clutch pressure regulating
valve spool stuck open.

Clean valve spool and housing.

Faulty charging pump.

Replace pump.

Broken or worn clutch shaft or
piston sealing rings.

Replace clutch shaft or sealing
rings, as applicable.

Clutch piston bleed valve stuck
open.

Clean bleed valves thoroughly.

Low converter charging pump
pressure.

Low oil level.

Fill to proper level. Refer to

Maintenance and Lubrication

page 9-1

Suction screen plugged.

Clean suction screen.

Defective oil pump.

Replace pump.

Overheating.

Worn oil sealing rings.

Remove, disassemble, and
rebuild converter assembly.

Worn oil pump.

Replace pump.

Low oil level.

Fill to proper level.

Noisy converter.

Worn oil pump.

Replace pump.

Worn or damaged bearings.

A complete disassembly will be
necessary to determine what
bearing is faulty.

Lack of power.

Low engine RPM at converter
stall.

Tune engine and check
governor.
