D3 - DRY AIR FILTER CARTRIDGE
CHANGE
In case of use in a heavily dust laden atmosphere, there are pre-filtration cartridges, see: 3 -
MAINTENANCE: FILTERS CARTRIDGES AND BELTS. Also, the checking and cleaning periodicity
of the cartridge must be reduced (up to 250 hours in a heavily laden dust atmosphere and with
pre-filtration).
Change the cartridge in a clean location, with the I.C. engine stopped. Never operate the lift truck with the air
filter removed or damaged.
- Lift up the overhead guard or the cab (see: 2 - DESCRIPTION: INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS).
- Loosen the bolts and remove cover 1 (fig. D3).
- Gently remove the cartridge 2 (fig. D3), taking care to avoid spilling the dust.
- Leave the safety cartridge in place.
- The following parts must be cleaned with a damp, clean lint-free cloth.
- The inside of the filter and cover.
- The inside of the filter inlet hose.
- The gasket surfaces in the filter and in the cover.
- Check pipes and connections between the air filter and the I.C. engine and the connection and state of the clogging indicator on the filter.
- Before mounting check the state of the new cartridge (see: 3 - MAINTENANCE: FILTERS CARTRIDGES AND BELTS).
- Introduce the cartridge into the filter axis and push it in, pressing the edges and not the middle.
- Reassemble the cover, guiding the valve downwards.
D4 - FUEL PRE-FILTER
CHANGE
- Lift up the overhead guard or the cab (see: 2 - DESCRIPTION: INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS).
Carefully clean the outside of the pre-filter and its holder, to prevent dust from getting into the system.
Tighten the fuel pre-filter by hand only and lock the pre-filter in place by a quarter turn
- Switch off the lift truck's ignition.
- Disconnect electrical wiring harness 1 from the fuel pre-filter (fig. D4).
- Place a receptacle under the drain plug 2 and unscrew by two to three turns (fig. D4).
-Open bleed screw 3 to ensure proper emptying (fig. D4).
- Re-tighten bleed screw 3 once the pre-filter is emptied (fig. D4).
- Loosen pre-filter 4 and discard it, together with its seal (fig. D4).
- Clean the inside of the pre-filter head using a brush immersed in clean diesel oil.
- Refit a pre-filter and a new seal lubricated with clean diesel beforehand (see: 3 - MAINTENANCE:
FILTERS CARTRIDGES AND BELTS).
- Reconnect the fuel pre-filter wiring harness 1 (fig. D4).
- Replace the fuel filter
D5 - FUEL FILTER
CHANGE
- Lift up the overhead guard or the cab (see: 2 - DESCRIPTION: INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS).
Carefully clean the outside of the filter and its holder, to prevent dust from getting into the system.
Tighten the fuel filter by hand only and lock the filter in place by a quarter turn
-Unscrew and discard the fuel filter 1(fig. D5).
- Clean the inside of the filter head using a brush immersed in clean diesel oil.

Refit a filter and a new seal lubricated with clean diesel beforehand (see:
3 - MAINTENANCE: FILTERS CARTRIDGES AND BELTS).
- Open the bleed screw 3 of the fuel pre-filter (fig. D4) and the bleed screw 2 of the fuel filter
(fig. D5).
- Switch on the lift truck's ignition, and close the bleed screw as soon as the diesel flows with
no air.
