Once the Rotational Speed has reached 30.000 RPM, 
automatic handover occurs and the RPM can be 
controlled manually to maximum Rotational Speed

4.3  Engine Start on the Ground (Ground Run) 

For maintenance and test purposes it is possible to operate the 
engine on the ground as well. 
 
The  following  safety  precautions  must  be  executed  before 
starting the engine on ground: 
 

Precautions for Ground Run 

 

Bring the aircraft to a safe area for execution of the 
ground run (secure if necessary) 

 

Turn the nose of the aircraft into the wind  

 

Keep persons and objects out of the engine exhaust 
gas jet area (secure if necessary) 

 

Secure the main landing gear against rolling off 
from the front with wedges  

 

Perform a check for foreign objects of the engine air 
intake area (loose objects which could be sucked in 
by the engine)  

 

 
To  start  the  engine  on  the  ground,  at  least  two  persons  are 
required for a trouble-free execution.
