Do Not Overtighten the Nuts

You can very easily overtighten the nuts on the
boom mounting screws. This will not cause any

damage, but it will prevent your booms from folding.
You want to tighten them just enough to hold the

boom in place firmly, but not so much that it pre-

vents it from folding at all. Practice folding the boom

as you are going through this step. The nuts we use,
called lock nuts, have a layer of nylon at the end of

the thread that holds the nut in place without having
to overtighten it. You should still consider checking

the tightness of the mounting screws/nuts during
regular aircraft inspections.
