lation. Sheet metal edges are sharp.

NOTES:
For installation with CKRUBY kit in a gas metal insert,
refer to the instructions that were provided with the kit.
For installation with MER36MN and MER42MN, refer to
appliance Installation Manual.
MEDIA INSTALLATION
1.
The media placement jig MUST be used any time me-
dia are placed on the burner to ensure that there is no
media in the burner lighting area. Verify that the media
placement jig is correctly installed in place in the appli-
ance. See Figure 1.
2. Carefully spread media over media tray everywhere
except on the burner and pilot shield. Save 1/2 bag of
media for use in Step 3 of the Stones Installation section
of this instruction. DO NOT allow media to fall between
the media tray and the back of the firebox. Remove
any fallen media before proceeding. See Figure 2 and
Figure 5.
CAUTION! Risk of Burns!
The fireplace should be turned
off and cooled before media and stones are installed.

Ceramic Stones
(Number of bags varies by model size. See Table 1 and
Table 2. Each bag contains 12 stones).

firebox.
• Do NOT place media in a position that they may
fall into area between glass and firebox.
• Do NOT use any media other than the media
supplied with this fireplace.
Fireplace will not function properly.

PREPARATION
1. Remove mesh front and glass assembly. Refer to
appliance installation manual for glass removal and
replacement instructions.

• Place media according to instructions.
• Do NOT place stones in area in front of pilot or
burner.
• Do NOT place media in a position that they may
fall into area in front of pilot.
• Do NOT place media in a position that pieces may fall
between the media tray and back of firebox.
• Do NOT use any media or stones other than the Hearth
& Home Technologies-supplied options for this fireplace
model.
Fireplace will not function properly.
Delayed ignition could occur.
