3.2 Installation, connection
Only operate the ventilation unit:

with air filters fitted. Only use
original air filters.
●
with the voltage and frequen-
cy stated on the rating plate.
●
with all duct connections fitted
(sound absorbers significantly
reduce the noise emissions).
●
if the safety switch-off is wor-
king correctly.
● Single door contact switch
(standard unit): The fans
switch off when the front
cover is opened.
●
Double door contact switch
(comfort and bypass unit):
The fans and frost protection
heating register switch off
when the front cover is
opened. The bypass unit's
bypass shutter closes.
3.3 Cleaning, maintenance
Before cleaning or maintenance
work, switch off the ventilation
unit with the main switch [6].

3.4 Regulations for operation
with fireplaces
3.4.1 Ventilation requirements
of fireplaces
WS 170 ventilation units may
only be installed
in rooms,
apartments or user units of a
comparable size, in which air-
ventilated fireplaces are
installed if
:
3. a parallel operation of air-
ventilated fire-places for liquid
or gaseous fuels and the air-
extracting equipment can be
prevented via safety devices,
or
4. the extraction of exhaust gas
from the air-ventilated
fireplaces is monitored by
special safety devices In the
case of air-ventilated
fireplaces for liquid or
gaseous fuels, the fireplace or
the ventilation unit must be
switched off if the safety
device is triggered.
In the case of air-ventilated
fireplaces for solid fuels, the
ventilation unit must be
switched off if the safety
device is triggered.
