5. Run function test. Check that the impeller
runs quietly and ensure if necessary. It is
also important that the air can flow
unhindered.
6. Switch off unit.
11. Cleaning, Maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance only permissible
when carried out by trained specialists.
DANGER
Danger to life from electric shock.
Before cleaning or maintenance work,
switch the fan off with the service switch
(position “off”) and secure it against being
accidentally switched back on.
CAUTION
Regularly clean the fan. The operator
should determine the cleaning intervals –
the frequency depends on ambient
conditions and anticipated impairments.
11.1 Cleaning
1. Move service switch to the "Off" position
and protect against switching back on
again.
2. If required, clean the fan with a dry cloth.
11.2 Maintenance
1. EZD-/DZD units require no maintenance.
Despite this, check the unit from time to
time for bearing noise, damage and
disproportionate vibration.
DANGER
Danger of injury from rotating impeller
after switching off.
Switch service switch
to "Off" position before removing the roof
cowl. Wait until the impeller is stationary.
2. If necessary, clean the unit of dirt/foreign
particles as described above. Never use
water or a high-pressure cleaner on the
interior.
12. Fault rectification
Check whether the thermal motor protection
(PTC thermistor triggering device) has
tripped. Once the motor protection has
cooled down, switch the unit on and check
for unusual noise.
Fault finding and repairs only permissible
when carried out by trained specialists.
Fault
Cause, measure
Fan does not
switch on.
No mains voltage.
Check whether the mains
fuse has failed. Switch on
if necessary.
If necessary, also check
the service switch.
Motor’s
thermal
overload
protection
switches the
fan off.
Motor too hot.
Leave the unit switched off
until the motor and the
temperature limiter cool
down. It may take
up to
30 minutes
to cool down.
Only then, switch the unit
back on.
Fan does not
switch on.
Impeller is blocked.
Check impeller and clean if
necessary.
Deposits on the
impeller and in
the housing
caused by dust
in the air.
Install an air filter in the duct
system.
Under no circum-
stances
should the inside
of the unit be cleaned with
water or a high-pressure
cleaner.
Impeller not
turning.
Switch off unit. Ensure that
the impeller is not blocked
by foreign bodies.
If the fault still continues or occurs
again, disconnect the fan from the
power supply at all poles.
Let a certified electrician determine
the cause of the fault and eliminate it.
