• Only connect the fan according to the circuit diagram/
wiring diagram. A permanent electrical installation is
mandatory. Note the voltage and frequency stated on
the rating plate. Use a mains isolation device with con-
tact openings of at least 3 mm at each pole.
• Use cables of type NYM-O or NYM-J, with 3 x 1.5 mm² or
5 x 1.5 mm², suitable for the unit type.
• The
degree of protection
stated on the
rating plate
is
only guaranteed if installation is undertaken correctly
and the connection cable is inserted correctly.
• With protection class I, connect the PE conductor and
check the connection.
• Perform a function test after completing installation,
maintenance and repair work.
• Proceed with caution in the event of a malfunction. The
fan may also be energized when at a standstill and may
be switched on automatically by sensors (time delay, hu-
midity etc.) or by the thermal switch in the motor wind-
ing. Maintenance and fault finding only permissible
when carried out by qualified electricians.
4 Intended use
AWV
are centrifugal external wall fans with an integrated
shutter. They are used for
air extraction
from rooms in do-
mestic or commercial areas. Example: Machine extraction,
workplace, commercial space, fitness room, canteen, etc.
Operation of the AWV is only permissible:
• with permanent installation on a flat exterior wall with
sufficient load-bearing capacity.
• with the shutter pointing downwards (towards the
floor).
• when connected to a ventilation duct that matches the
unit variant/nominal size.
• with upstream air filter.
• with permanent electrical installation.
• with free inlet with protection against accidental contact
in accordance with EN ISO 13857, for example with
SGR/
MGR
protective grille.
The connection socket is prepared on the suc-
tion side for installation in the ventilation duct. IP
X4 degree of protection when installed in ventila-
tion ducts with at least 1 m of pipe on the suction
side.
When connecting to ducts, folded spiral-seams
ducts with flexible couplings are prescribed. These
prevent the transmission of vibrations to the duct
system.
5 Product information

9 Transport, storage
WARNING! Observe the enclosed safety instruction
sheet for industrial fans.
CAUTION! Wear protective gloves to prevent cuts
caused by sharp-edged housing plates.
Only store fan
vertically
and
dry
(-10 °C to +60 °C). Avoid
storage periods that are too long. Recommendation: store
for a max. of 1 year. Before installation, check that the
moving parts (impeller) can move freely.
10 Preparation for installation
• Attach wall breakthrough and, if necessary, wall sleeve.
• Lay the power cable to the installation site.
• Install ventilation ducts professionally.
• In the case of a free inlet, fit a protective grille in front of
the fan/duct system.
• Unpack the unit. Dispose of packaging material.
11 Wall mounting, electrical connection
1. Remove cover. To do this, loosen the two screws at the
bottom of the unit, swing out the cover and lift it up-
wards.
2. Guide the connection cable through one of the two
cable feedthroughs into the housing.
ATTENTION:
Sheet metal has sharp edges. Do not dam-
age the power cable.
