3.2 Product description
● Supply air element (black arrow) with air
filter (filter class G2).
● Storm protection standard for ALD 12,
optional for ALD 10 and ALD 10 T. The
storm protection regulates air flow during
strong or gusty winds. It fully closes the air
channel during a storm.
● For core hole diameters of 115 mm or
125 mm.
ALD 10
● For wall thicknesses of up to 380 mm.
● Air volume can be adjusted continuously
using slide (iris closure). Move slide to left =
CLOSED, move slide to right = OPEN.
ALD 10 T
● Thermal version
● Supply air element opens or closes
automatically depending on the
temperature at the thermal element
(sensitivity to temperature -5 ... +10 °C).
● For wall thicknesses of up to 380 mm.
● Air volume can be adjusted by turning the
valve disk.
ALD 12 S and ALD 12 SVA
● Sound insulated version.
● For wall thicknesses of up to 500 mm.
● Air volume can be adjusted continuously
using slide (iris closure, under removable
internal cover). Move slide to left =
CLOSED, move slide to right = OPEN.
● Storm protection provided as standard.
This limits the air volume flowing through to
a maximum of 30 m³/h.

Essential safety instructions
4.1 General safety instructions
● Keep the instructions.
● Supply air elements should be open at all
times. If the outside air is polluted (if
there is a fire outside for example) you
must close the supply air elements to
prevent the pollutants entering the
building.
● ALD 10 T can only be fully closed by
removing the spacing ring [12].
If the outside air is polluted, remove the
spacing ring and fully close the supply
air element.
● Installation is only permitted when carried
out by trained specialists.
● Note the accident prevention regulations.
During installation, proceed in a safety-
conscious manner, particularly when
working at height (when installing the
external grille, for example).
● Modifications and alterations to the unit are
not permitted and release Maico from any
guarantee obligations and liability.
