4.2 Intended use
● ALD 10.. and ALD 12.. are air supply
elements for decentralised apartment
ventilation.
● For draught-free supply air intake in living
rooms and bedrooms.
● For fitting on the wall . Horizontal installa-
tion position, sloped at approx. 1...2 % to
the outside wall.
● On the right or left in the upper part of the
window.
● Recommended installation height of
between 2 m and 2.20 m.

Installation
It must be possible for the internal
cover or valve disk to be removed
in order to change the filter. Select
installation location accordingly.
Ensure an incline of 1...2 % for the
core hole so that any condensation
which collects can drain outwards.
5.1 Installation of ALD 10, ALD 10 T

Drill core hole with 115 mm diameter in
wall.

Slide the 2-part wall sleeve into the wall
(large sleeve diameter must be on the
outside) and adjust to wall thickness.
 Plaster in wall sleeve.

Remove cover from external grille.
 Screw external grille connection coupling to
outside wall. Suitable mounting material is
to be supplied by the customer.

Insert fly screen FG 100 in connection
coupling.

Press external grille onto connection
coupling until it snaps in. Ensure that the
unit is installed with the Maico logo in the
bottom right.
 When using the optional storm protection
ALDS 10: Insert storm protection in wall
sleeve such that it is positioned centrally in
the wall sleeve and stands vertically. The
silicone ribs must not sag under their own
weight.
 Remove cover from internal connection
coupling. Unscrew valve disk for
ALD 10 T.
CAUTION
For ALD 10 T:
Danger of injury from
tensioned spring on thermal
element. Do not open lock.
The spring may jump out
suddenly.

The thermal controller is fully
fitted ex factory. Do not open
lock.
 Stick sealing strip on connection coupling
of internal cover.
 Screw connection coupling onto inner wall
Suitable mounting material is to be
supplied by the customer.
ALD 10
 Insert inner filter holder, air filter and outer
filter holder in cover. Clip outer filter holder
onto 4 corner points.
 Press entire cover unit onto connection
coupling until it snaps into place. Note the
slide slot.
 Use slide to adjust air volume according to
diagram (see page 12) .
The iris closure opens/closes depending on
the setting.
Move slide to left = CLOSED, move slide
to right = OPEN.
