BOOST PRESSURE MODULATOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND
BOOST PRESSURE MODULATOR
The boost pressure modulator controls the variable vanes of the VGT to attain the desired boost
pressure thru controlling the vacuum to boost pressure actuator .In normal operation and during an
actuator test, the PWM power stage of ECU is tested for short circuit to battery voltage, short circuit to
ground, open circuit and excess temperature. Once the errors are confirmed, the power stage is switched
off.
DTC INFORMATION
PROBABLE CAUSES OF FAILURE
NORMAL OPERATION
Ignition ON
No malfunction detected by EMS ECU in the boost pressure
modulator circuit.
DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS
Ignition ON
EMS ECU supply voltage 8-16V
Short circuit to ground is detected in boost pressure
modulator circuit.
DTC REACTIONS
OBD check lamp continuously ON
EGR switches OFF
HEALING CONDITION
Ignition Off/On
Short to ground in boost
