7.1
Known Symptoms and Possible Causes
This section contains additional supplemental symptoms and possible causes that are not covered in
device’s installation and operation manual, either because they would generally only appear after
servicing the device, or because they can not be addressed by the user.
7.1.1
Error message “Card jam at roller station”
Use
MCP Commands
page to test hopper shuttle movement and card stock feed.
7.1.2
Hopper shuttle does not move
Make sure the cables below the hopper are plugged in to the right connectors in the connector panel
on the top deck plate. It is possible to accidentally reverse cables that go to similar connectors.
If the hopper shuttle moves but does not pull cards, check the flex cable that connects the circuit
board on the top deck plate to the hopper shuttle. The flex cable can come loose if it is accidentally
bumped during re-installation of the cover.
7.1.3
Card Does Not Exit Image Printer Correctly
If cards do not exit the image printer to the XY transport correctly (card is crooked / diagonal in the XY
transport carriage’s clamp, too far to either side of the clamp, or not deep enough into the clamp), adjust
the handoff settings by following the steps in section
6.5 How to Calibrate the XY Transport Module
7.1.4
Uneven Tipping
If the foil tipping on the front of the card is uneven and can not be fixed by re-calibrating the tipper
module (see section
6.8 How to Calibrate the Tipper Module
), it is possible the tipper heater needs to

Error message “Eject Bin Full”
Check the tipper exit sensor on the lower tipper ramp below the orange spool to make sure it is clean
and not physically obstructed.

page. If it shows sensor

is blocked when there is no physical
obstruction, check to make sure cable is firmly connected to plug

on the exit transport junction
board, found on the front of the exit transport module behind the tipper module.
If all else is OK, firmware may be corrupt. Reload same firmware revision that is already installed.
