5.1 Alarm Overview
The nerve monitor has and intelligent alarm system to determine when to raise an
alarm and to keep track of active alarms. There are alarm priority levels, medium
and low. There are no high priority alarms. In the event of an alarm, a banner will be
displayed across the top of the screen, along with details of the alarm and a tone will
sound. The alarm volume is linked to the system volume (see "b. System Settings" on
page 62).
In the event of multiple alarms the following logic will be applied:
1. Lower priority alarms will be replaced if a higher priority alarm is reported.
2. Lower priority alarms will not be reported until the higher priority alarm has been
acknowledged or cleared.
3. Multiple alarms of the same priority will be cycled through, with each alarm being
reported.
Further information on each alarm priority is shown below. More detailed information
on specific errors and alarms can be found in "5.3 System Alarms & Messages" on page
67.
Medium priority alarms display a yellow banner. They may indicate a fault, or provide
information needing attention (e.g. If an electrode is disconnected).
Follow the instructions provided in the banner to clear the alarm. If a tick is displayed
within the banner (see above), the alarm may be acknowledged by pressing on the
tick.
Low priority alarms display a cyan banner. They provide information the user should
be aware of (e.g. If the system is running low on storage space).
Follow the instructions provided in the banner to clear the alarm. If a tick is displayed
within the banner (see above), the alarm may be acknowledged by pressing on the
tick.
