Filler Wire Feed Module
A modular wire feed device can be mounted on each model of Weld Head for applications calling for filler
material. Wire feed rate is adjustable from 0 to 1900mm/minute (75IPM) inches per minute. The wire spool
mount is an integral component of the wire feed module. This mounts a special spool of filler wire weighing
0.16 kg (0.35 lb). Standard wire diameter is 0.8mm (.030").

Weld Head Weight
The Weld Heads have the following weights:
R-1 427A: 3.9 kg (8.5 lbs.)
R-2 428A: 5.4 kg (12 lbs.)
R-3 429A: 9.0 kg (20 lbs.)

Clearance Requirements
The Redhead Series of Weld Heads is composed of a U-shaped frame with a projecting handle (the handle
encloses the torch rotation motor). The open end of the U-shaped frame is slipped over the tube or pipe to
be welded. Clamping functions, as well as torch rotation functions, are incorporated into the mechanism of
the U-shaped frame. The maximum tube or pipe size that can be welded is determined by the I.D. of the U-
shaped frame. As the frame is rigid, the radial clearance requirement between the pipe to be welded and
the nearest adjacent structure is a function of the width of the U-shaped frame, and the workpiece diameter.
