Appendix B Setup Guide
In the event it is necessary for your laboratory personnel to set up the system on their own, follow the
steps detailed in this Setup Guide. If you have any questions during the process please contact
Magellan Diagnostics Product Support at 800-275-0102 or LeadCareSupport@magellandx.com.
B.1 Establishing the Work Area
The following parameters should be considered when choosing the placement of the LeadCare Ultra
®
System within the laboratory:
•
The system occupies an approximate bench space of 21 inches wide by 25 inches deep by 18
inches high.
• The system requires two (2) grounded electrical outlets.
•
Set up the LeadCare Ultra Blood Lead Testing system in an area that is free of drafts and
temperature extremes. For best results, the analyzer needs to operate in a stable temperature
environment:
o 16°C - 30°C (61°F - 86°F)
o 12% - 80% Relative Humidity (non-condensing)
B.2 Setting Up the Analyzer and Computer Components
B.2.1 Unpacking the System
LeadCare Ultra materials are contained in two separate main packages, the Analyzer Kit box and the
Computer System Kit box, each containing multiple components as described in Tables 1 and 2.
1. Carefully remove the packages from the shipping boxes and inspect them for damage. If
you notice any damage, report it to Magellan Diagnostics, Inc. immediately.
2. Unpack the boxes keeping the components from the Analyzer Kit box together, and the
components from the Computer System Kit box together, for easy access and
identification during equipment set-up. Use the checklists below to confirm that all
components are present.
3. Record all serial numbers of the components on the Installation Checklist provided by
Magellan Diagnostics.
4. Review the manufacturer’s instruction for setting up the AIO stand, monitor and soundbar.
Review the LS9208 Quick Start Guide for Connecting the Barcode Scanner. These
documents can be found in the corresponding boxes.
5. If you are connecting an optional printer, follow the installation guidelines in Section B.4.
