Chapter 6:

Maintenance and Servicing

The following instructions provide information about routine service.

Log hours of operation and use the maintenance record provided (refer to

6.2.1 Maintenance Schedule/Record, page 100

)

to keep track of your scheduled maintenance.

6.1

Preparing Machine for Servicing

Observe all safety precautions before beginning service on the machine.

DANGER

To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key before leaving the operator

’

s seat, and always engage the safety props before going under the

machine for any reason.

CAUTION

To avoid personal injury, follow all the safety precautions listed before servicing the header or opening the drive
covers.

Lower the header fully. If it is necessary to service the header in the raised position, always engage the safety props.

Stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition.

Engage the park brake.

Wait for all moving parts to stop.
