5.4.7 Nut Shield

If accelerators are not used, nut shields will be required to protect the cutter blade nuts.

Nut shields are mounted on each outboard disc.

Nut shields are replaceable and should be inspected
periodically for damage and loose or missing fasteners.

1. Raise the header fully.

2. Stop the engine and remove the key.

3. Engage header safety props.

4. Open the cutterbar doors.

5. Inspect nut shields (A) and replace if severely

damaged or worn.

6. Check for loose or missing fasteners and tighten or
