Adjust Speaker Volume
Microsoft Windows provides volume adjustment by clicking the “volume” icon in the system tray.
The volume control adjusts the built in speaker’s volume.
Note:
The <F8> and <F9> keys on the VMT keyboard have no function as Windows controls
the sound volume.
Microsoft Windows Event Sounds
The VX4 CD contains WAV files that may be preferable to standard Microsoft Windows sounds
when using the internal speaker. For more information on changing the sounds used in Windows,
please refer to the Windows help feature.
Status Indicator
The LXE VMT keyboard has a Status LED, located below the <enter> key, that is illuminated
green when the unit is powered on. The LED is dark when power is disconnected. All power
management and modes are handled by Microsoft Windows.
Note:
This LED should not be lit when power is disconnected from the VX4.

Off
VX4 is Off.
Steady Green
The VX4 is powered On and the display is On.

The VX4 is powered On and the display is Off. Press any key or
touch the screen to turn the display On.
- or -
The VX4 is in the Standby state. The VX4 is placed in Standby
state from the Microsoft Windows Shut Down menu or the
expiration of the Windows Standby timer. Any key press or screen
touch returns the VX4 to the “On” state. When the VX4 enters the
Standby state, the display and hard drive are turned off. On a VX4
running Windows 98, the keyboard backlight may be configured to
turn off in Standby mode.
