LDS Plus Reference Guide

Start of Line (SOL)
The
start of line
character (SOL) is the less than sign < that indicates the beginning of the
message.
Note: This character is always the first character of a message, whether the message is
inbound, outbound or a protocol message.
The message format below highlights the location of the
start of line
character:

This character must never appear any place else in the data stream.
