Setting the Display for 1- or 2-Lines
(for the 8434DX only)
To change the display to 1 or 2 lines (on the 8434DX only):
1. While on-hook, press
.

goes on.
2. Press .

goes off.
3. Enter the 2-digit code, “35” (“DL”).
■
The current setting (1-LINE DISPLAY or 2-LINE DISPLAY) is
shown on the display.
4. Press either “1” or” 2” to change the setting:
— Press “1” to select a 1-line display
— Press “2” to select a 2-line display
or press
to change the setting. Press
to save the desired
option and then exit programming.

After pressing “1” or “2”
or
pressing “#”, one of the following
voice terminal responses occurs:
If the voice terminal saves your selection, the first three green
call appearance lights go on and, if you have a display, a
confirmation message is displayed.
If the voice terminal cannot save this selection, the first three
red call appearance lights go on and, if you have a display, an
error message is displayed. In this case, the selected option
will be in effect until power is removed from the set. If this
happens, try repeating the process. If the option still cannot
be saved, the terminal may be faulty.
