Overview
Use this procedure to replace the following combination circuit packs
in the Main-1 or Main-2 slots.
•
VLNC5 OC-3/16DS1/2DS3
•
VLNC6 OC-3/16DS1
•
VLNC25 OC-12/16DS1/2DS3
•
VLNC26 OC-12/16DS1
Required equipment
In addition to the equipment listed in
optical loopback cables, LBOs, and optical fiber cleaning tools may
also be required if loopbacks are performed.
Important! The circuit packs in the Main slots must both be the
same type, for example, either two VLNC5 circuit packs or two
VLNC6 circuit packs. If the circuit packs in the Main slots are
different, the system reports a
CP not allowed - eqpt
alarm
and service may be impacted.
Before you begin
Prior to performing this procedure:

Obtain the work instructions for this procedure.
Procedure
Complete the following steps to replace a combination circuit
pack in the Main-1 or Main-2 slot.

From the System View menu, select
View
→
Timing/Sync
and select
the System Timing tab. The Active Circuit Pack item reads either
main-1 or main-2.
