The maximum upward and downward displacement of the plastic latches shall not
exceed 5 mm to avoid any destruction.
Mounting order
Mount the circuit packs in the following order:

Insert one CTL unit into slot “CTL W” (#11). If 1+1 CTL protection is required, a
second CTL unit must be inserted later (see section
“Mounting the CTL protection
unit” (p. 7-33) ) to avoid the possibility of a database corruption.
Important! Make sure that the CTL unit contains a CompactFlash
™
card with
loaded NE software and that the flash card is secured by the protecting bar (see
section
“NE software installation” (p. 5-19) ).
Result: The NE boots automatically (takes about 15 to 20 minutes).
The LED behavior of the CTL during the boot process is as follows:
1. The “Fault” LED is illuminated.
2. The “Active” LED flashes.
3. The “Fault” and “Active” LEDs flash.
4. The “Fault” LED is illuminated and the “Active” LED flashes.
5. The “Fault” and “Active” LEDs flash.
6. The “Fault” LED flashes and the “Active” LED is illuminated.
After the boot process the following must be observed:
•
The fans have reduced their speed.
•
The “Fault” LED is flashing and the “Active” LED is permanently illuminated.
•
The “MN” and “ABN” LEDs on the User Panel are illuminated.
Troubleshooting: If the conditions described above cannot be observed, refer to
appendix A, section “CTL failure” (p. A-8) .

Push the XC unit (worker) firmly into slot “XC W” (#9).
Result: After about 20 seconds the following must be observed:
1. The “Active” LED flashes.
2. The “MN”, “MJ” and “ABN” LEDs on the User Panel are illuminated.
Troubleshooting: If the conditions described above cannot be observed, check that
the XC unit is plugged correctly. If that does not solve the problem, replace the XC
unit (worker).
