Gas supply
Connect the elisa 300 / elisa 500 O
2
gas inlet to an O
2
gas supply that meets the
requirements indicated in the technical specifications.
Remark
Technical details on gas supply can be found in chapter 12.3
“Supply”.
The current data of the connected gas supply can be reviewed any time during
ventilator operation.
Warning
Only use gas supply tubes that meet the local standards. A faulty
O
2
supply can pose a risk to the patient.
Warning
Ensure that only dry and clean gas is used. Water, oil or particles
entering the device can damage the device and endanger the pa-
tient.
If in doubt, provide suitable water traps and/or oil separators.
elisa 300 / elisa 500 has been designed to allow operation without O
2
supply at
any time. In this case, AIR will be supplied by the turbine integrated in the device.
If O
2
is not available for the system test, the absence of O
2
can be confirmed and
the system test can be carried out all the same. The test steps for the missing O
2
are skipped. After a system test without oxygen, the value for FiO
2
is automatically
set at 21%.
If FiO
2
is set to a value greater than 21% during the ventilation procedure, an
alarm will be displayed to indicate that O
2
is missing.
To view information about the available gases, press the “System” button and
select the “Gases” tab.
Remark
If the missing O
2
is connected during operation, the device auto-
matically switches to operation with oxygen.
The information that the system test was carried out without O
2
remains displayed until the system test is repeated.
