Start Cuffscout by pressing either the “Static” or the “Auto” button, then press

Enter.

The “Max. block” function is only available after activation of the Cuffscout.

A 3.5

Oesophageal pressure measurement (Peso)

An oesophageal catheter can be connected to the ventilator via the additional

pressure port Paux II. The changing oesophageal pressure may reflect the chang

ing pleural pressure during the respiratory cycle and it enables transpulmonary

pressure monitoring.

Warning

To ensure the validity of the measurement, connect the oesoph-

ageal catheter to the intensive care ventilators elisa 300 elisa 500

only by means of the pressure-tested Peso adapter (see separate

accessory list).

Warning

Observe the instructions for use supplied with the oesophageal

catheter and the accessories used.

Remark

In elisa 300 ventilators, the oesophageal pressure measurement is

not available.
