.Determine the location for installation of

EVA-34 on the roof based on local build-
ing codes.

2

.Upon determining the approximate loca-

tion for installation, the location of nearby
rafters will need to be determined so that
hole in roof is cut between rafters.  Mark
center for hole to be cut approximately
mid-way between the two rafters. To

ensure proper

installation, place
center of hole
such that shingles
will be covering
the upper half of
the roof vent
flashing. Refer to

Figure 1.  After

ensuring proper vent location mark cen-
ter of hole for adapter,  cut a hole approx-
imately 5 inches in diameter using the
center mark.

3

.At this time the vent hose can be con-

nected to the adapter using a hose
clamp or the hose can be connected
after installation from the inside of the
attic.

4

.After hole is cut, place roofing cement

around edge of hole and slide the

adapter with arrow pointed up under the
row of shingles that is nearest the hole
and position the collar in the center of the
hole. This will leave the lower half of the
adapter on top of the next row of shin-
gles.  Note that some nails may have to
be raised or removed to allow the
adapter to slide into place such that the
hose attachment collar will fit in the hole.
After vent is in place and the hose collar
is centered in the hole, the adapter
should be nailed down using the desig-
nated nail holes.

For new installation including installation of roof exhaust vent
proceed to Step 1.  If installing under existing roof exhaust vent
skip to Step 7.

.Next, install the vent over the exhaust

hose adapter.  Trim shingles to allow the
vent to be installed correctly.  Place an
ample amount of roofing cement on the
underside of the vent flange and careful-
ly slide base of the vent under shingle
with arrow pointing up.  Make sure the
throat of the vent is centered over
exhaust hose adapter throat.  Fasten the
base to roof decking with roofing nails,

keeping heads of nails under shingles
where possible.

6

.Lomanco, Inc. recommends to finish the

mount by sealing all seams and nails with
roofing cement. Note: On 700 Series
Vent DO NOT CAULK gap between sides
and base or back and base.  Also use
roofing cement to fasten down loose
edges of shingles.

7.FOR INSTALLATION WITH PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED ROOF

EXHAUST VENTS

• The exhaust vent adapter can be easily installed from inside the attic under an existing

exhaust roof vent.  The adapter should be centered under the existing hole  with the
arrow pointed toward the peak of the roof and fastened to the underside of the roof deck-
ing.  Wood screws of a length less than the thickness of the decking material should be
used to fasten the adapter to the decking. It is recommended that a screw  should be
used in each of the 8 pre-molded holes.  After the adapter is fastened to the underside
of the decking, the exhaust hose should be attached to the adapter using an adjustable
clamp.  This completes the installation.

INSIDE INSTALLATION

Note:

We are aware that at

times the exhaust hose is
vented through an opening
at the soffit.  The EVA-34
will also work great in this
application.  Simply mount
the flat face of the EVA-34
over the soffit opening,
secure using screws in the
pre-molded holes, and
finally connect the exhaust
hose to the adapter.
