1.1 About this guide

General

This guide explains how to use the IQ3X Metal Detection System. It walks through the process
required to operate the machine. This guide does not cover the advanced features of the IQ3X
Metal Detection System. For more information on the advanced features please refer to the
IQ3X Reference Guide.

Audience

This guide is designed for the following users of the IQ3X Metal Detection System.

l

Operators:

l

Operators use the machine functionality and features to carry out routine product
inspections and remove non-conforming products from the production line.

l

Supervisor:

l

Supervisors use the machine functionality and features to manage the selection
and inspection of a range of products.

l

Quality

l

A user that monitors and analyses inspection data to ensure that acceptable quality
standards are achieved and maintained for all the products inspected meeting
customer and legislative requirements.

l

Engineer

l

A user that carries out the installation, commissioning and integration of the system
into the production line, and carries out routine servicing and maintenance tasks
ensuring the high performance and longevity of the machine

Purpose

The goal is to show users how to carry out operations and tasks that will ensure the effective, safe
and continued operation of the machine enabling it to detect contaminanted products and
remove them from the production line.
