Interrupted Feedback
(IFB)
IFB Overview
The IFB feature provides a unidirectional audio channel from the LU2000 to LU600 unit
operators in the field. This enables the personnel in the master control room (MCR) to
broadcast verbal instructions or information about events to LU600 operators out in the
field.
During broadcasting, LU600 operators can listen to an audio-only channel received from the
IFB server using an earphone/headphone. IFB uses a unidirectional audio channel from the
LU2000 to the LU600 unit, which allows the LU600 operator to listen, but not respond.
For more details about the IFB feature on the LU2000, see
Appendix A

IFB Setup
To set up IFB:
•
Plug in the earphones/headphones into the microphone connector on the LU600. No
other setup or configuration is required on the LU600.
During streaming, IFB has a ~700ms delay. Low delay mode is available in LiveU
Central and supports delays as low as ~350ms.
Low delay IFB mode is slightly less resilient and is not supported when using IP satellite
connections such as Ka/BGAN.
Please note that unless you have enabled the “IFB Always On” feature from within LiveU
Central, you should make sure that the earphones were physically connected to the unit
before starting to stream or the LU600 operator will not be able to hear anything on the
IFB channel.
