Please read and keep the information in the attached safety instructions supplied with the
product before you start using the device.
Introduction
Lightware’s WP-UMX-TPS wall plates transmit universal video at a resolution up to 4K, audio
and control up to 170 m distance over a single CATx cable. The products have HDBaseT
TM
integration with additional Lightware developments. This transmitter was designed for digital
and analog video and audio signals e.g. DVI, VGA, YPrPb, HDMI1.4 and DP 1.1 with analog
stereo audio from local inputs or embedded 7.1 HBR audio and to handle HDCP encryption.

Status LEDs
The LEDs give feedback about the state of the unit, the
video and audio signals. See the attached list for details.

Show me Button
Special functions are available with this button (e.g. enable
DHCP or restore factory default settings).

Reset Button
The same as disconnecting the device from the power
source and reconnecting it again.

IR Detector
IR Detector can sense IR light which can be forwarded to
the receiver side or use for controlling functions.

HDMI Input
Input for a digital video source. Applied cable shall not be
more, than 30 m (at 1080p) and 15 m (at 4K).

DisplayPort Input
Input for digital video source (only on TX130 models). Applied
cable shall not be more, than 30 m (at 2.7 Gbps data speed).

Audio Input
3.5 mm Jack connector for unbalanced analog audio signal.

VGA Input
Input for an analog video source. Using a VGA cable where
all the pins are wired (DDC channel) is highly recommended.

Ethernet
Locking RJ45 connector for Ethernet communication.

Manual switching between the video inputs.

Audio Select
Manual switching between the audio inputs.

TPS Output Port
Locking RJ45 connector. Connect a twisted pair cable
between the transmitter and the receiver. Remote powering
also happens through this connector.

RS-232 Port
3-pole Phoenix connector for RS-232 serial port.

DC Input
Power the device remotely by a PoE-compatible power
injector (TPS-PI-1P1). If the device has to be powered by
a local adaptor (PSU-48VP1), connect the output to the
2-pole Phoenix
®
connector on the rear of the wall plate.

Connecting Steps (when using a Remote Power Injector)

Connect the TPS output port to the “TPS+PoE” output port of the TPS-PI-1P1 by a
CATx cable.

Connect the receiver (or the Matrix input board) to the power injector by a CATx cable
via the TPS port.
3
Connect the desired source(s) to the input port(s) of the transmitter.

Optionally connect the transmitter to a Local Area Network (LAN) in order to control
the device. Connect the controller device as well, e.g. a computer.
5
Optionally connect a serial device to the transmitter’s RS-232 port.
6
Power on the devices.

Video sources
OFF: video source is not selected.
BLINKING: video source is selected but not active.
ON: video source is selected and active.
Audio sources
OFF: audio source is not selected.
BLINKING: audio source is selected but not active.
ON (with short pause): audio source is selected and the port is active but not embedded
to the output video stream.
ON: audio source is selected, the port is active and the audio is embedded in the video.
When Autoselect is enabled and video signal is not present at all, video LEDs blink.
Autoselect LED
OFF: autoselect is disabled.
BLINKING: autoselect is enabled; searching for signal (video LEDs also blink).
ON: autoselect is enabled; active video signal is found.
A port is active if there is a valid signal on it.
TPS LINK
OFF: no TPS link between transmitter and receiver.
BLINKING (slow): low power mode is active.
BLINKING (fast): Ethernet fallback mode is active.
ON: TPS link is established, HDBaseT or Long Reach mode is active.

Powering On
After the transmitter is powered on, the LEDs show the version of the currently valid firmware
(TX130 with firmware 1.0.3):
1. Autoselect LED blinks twice.
2. All the LEDs are lit for a second.
3. VGA, DP and HDMI video LEDS are off for 1 sec.
4. VGA LED blinks once - this is the first number (1).
5. DP LED stays dark - showing the second number (0).
6. HDMI LED blinks three times - showing the third number (3).
7. Front panel LEDs are off for a second.
8. Last state of the device is restored and displayed on the LEDs.

Compatible devices
The transmitters are compatible with all Lightware TPS receivers, matrix boards and third-
party devices based on HDBase-T
TM
technology.
Mounting options
The transmitter can be easily mounted into an industrial standard switch/outlet box (B225R):

TPS-TX/RX90 and TPS-TX/RX95 are not PoE-compatible, thus not able to remote power
the WP-UMX-TPS-TX100 series and vica versa. WP-UMX-TPS-TX100 series contains PoE-
compatible remote power function, RX95 and TX95 extenders can be remote powered only
by each other.
Warranty void if damage occurs due to the usage of a different power source.
