SDM-1 installation window

The area on the left-hand side of the window displays the parameter groups. To view
the parameters in a group, click the plus sign next to the group or sub-group. Click
the minus sign to hide parameters. Parameter values are set by positioning the cursor
on the parameter (i.e., selecting the parameter) and entering the desired value in the
relevant window field(s). Whenever a certain parameter can not be changed (e.g.,
due to equipment or configuration limitations), you will not be able to make any
entries in the respective fields.

The parameters you can set in the Installation window are divided into the following
groups:

Network Element

Parameters related to the type of network element installed
(can not be changed).

Communication

Parameters related to the NE communications interfaces and
the IP addresses.

Equipment

Parameters relevant to the NE equipment configuration.

Routing Table

Parameters/entries

in

the

µ

SDM-1 NE routing table. The

routing table can be used to route datagrams to other LAN
segments (i.e., to destination subnets or hosts that are not on
the same IP subnet).
