Section 6. Maintenance

Replacing the purge dry-down chemical

The purge chemical, consisting of silica gel beads, is contained in a non-porous tube.
The instrument will pump air through the purge tube during the power-off routine
to ensure that the optics are free of water vapor while the instrument is in storage.
You may need to replace the chemical periodically. The silica gel pellets are orange
when new and green when saturated.

RESPIRATORY TRACT IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE PAIN, NAUSEA, VOMITING AND

To replace the purge chemical:

Power off the instrument.

Open the lid and locate the purge chemical column.

3

Disconnect the quick-connect fittings from the column inlet and outlet.
