REFRIGERANT PIPING CONNECTIONS
Installation Overview
Figure 34: Installation and Piping Connection Overview.
Installation
Single Zone Wall-Mounted systems are one-to-one
systems. There is a direct piping connection between
the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The figure at right
illustrates the basic pipe connections between the
outdoor and indoor unit. Refer to the illustration when
proceeding with pipe connections.
The illustration shows the indoor unit being installed at
a higher position than the outdoor unit. However, if the
outdoor unit be installed at a higher position than the
indoor unit, the basic pipe connections are the same.
Refer to the “Connection Limitations” section for spe-
cific length limitations in conjunction with outdoor unit
and indoor unit positioning.
• When proceeding with piping connections, adhere to
pipe support spacing lengths as shown in the General
Refrigerant Piping System Information section. Refer
to the “Pipe Supports” section for information on using
clamps and pipe support materials.
• Always adhere to local codes regarding piping and ac-
curate support spacing along the piping system.
• Always include insulation on all refrigerant and drain
piping to ensure condensate does not form and cause
damage to walls, floors, etc.
