3.15 Walking COS

Description

A user may temporarily override the toll restriction of a station to make toll calls from a normally
toll restricted Station. The user must input an Authorization Code (refer to Ref. A) in order to
activate Walking COS and is subject to the COS assigned to the station associated with the
Authorization Code. The Walking COS is applied after the code is entered for the next CO line
call.

Operation

To activate Walking COS from a DKT,

1.  Press the [TRANS/PGM] button.
2.  Dial 2 3.
3.  Dial the Authorization Code; intercom dial tone is received and the COS (Ref. C) is

temporarily changed.

To activate Walking COS from an SLT,

1.  Lift the handset.
2.  Dial 5 6 3.
3.  Dial 2 3.
4.  Dial the Authorization Code; intercom dial tone is received and the COS (refer to Ref.

C) is temporarily changed.

Consideration



A Flexible button may be assigned to activate Walking COS.



Releasing the CO line after activating Walking COS terminates Walking COS and the

station returns to the original COS.



Flash may be used to maintain access to a CO line after a call or if a wrong number is

dialed otherwise, the user must re-activate Walking COS.



The SMDR record for a call placed with Walking COS will show the station number

associated with the Authorization code not the actual Station.



Walking COS employs the COS associated with the Authorization code even if the station

COS has been set at COS 7 with Temporary COS..
