DESCRIPTION
The Telescoping While-In-Use Weatherproof Cover is designed to protect receptacles in wet locations with cover closed. It has a sliding hinge which allows cover to be closed
while in use. The cover is designed for the following applications: Pools, Hot Tubs, Vending Machines, Holiday and Landscape Lighting, Bug Zappers and Water Fountains.

INSTALLATION
NOTE:
The Telescoping While-In-Use Weatherproof Cover is designed for installation over smooth, flat surfaces (metal or vinyl siding, clapboard, plywood, etc.).
AVOID
mounting over
surface irregularities (joints, gaps, protrusions, etc.) which could disrupt the continuity of the seal. If the mounting surface is NOT smooth, use silicone sealant to ensure proper sealing.
NOTE:
Cover mounts on standard wiring boxes using the receptacle's mounting screws or on FD wiring boxes using optional (4) mounting screws.

To be installed and/or used in accordance with appropriate electrical codes and regulations.

WARNING:
TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER
at circuit breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
1.
Remove and discard existing wallplate and gasket, if applicable.
2.
Remove receptacle's mounting screws without disconnecting it, if applicable
.
NOTE:
For new installations, wire receptacle without mounting in the wall box.

Separate While-in-Use Cover assembly by carefully pulling the latch at the bottom of the assembly and opening cover until it is fully
extended. Once it is fully extended, push cover to free from base. Remove contents from inside and proceed to install base.

Carefully pass wired receptacle through base ensuring hinge channels are at the top, as shown in
Figure 1
.
5.
Center receptacle and base in proper position making sure the mounting screws holes for both base and receptacle line up properly, as
shown in
Figure 2a
.
6.
Mount and secure base/receptacle assembly in the wall by tightening receptacle's mounting screws.
DO NOT over-tighten screws.
7.
Once base has been securely fastened, install applicable device wallplate (included) inside base. Fasten wallplate securely using the
supplied wallplate screws.
DO NOT over-tighten screws.
8.
To install cover, align posts inside cover over hinge channels on base, then press down and pull the cover forward until it snaps into place.
Once mounted, close cover until bottom tab on cover locks with base, as shown in
Figure 2b
.
9.
Restore power at the circuit breaker or fuse.
Installation is complete.
OPERATION
To open While-in-Use Cover, lift tab located at bottom of assembly and pull cover to reveal receptacle.
Connect desired device plug cord to receptacle. Route cords through slots located at the bottom of cover.
The sliding hinge allows cover to be closed in the expanded position as shown in
Figure 3b
.
When not in use, the cover can be "collapsed” by a slight push on its surface as shown in
Figure 3c

LIMITED 2 YEAR WARRANTY AND EXCLUSIONS
Leviton warrants to the original consumer purchaser and not for the benefit of anyone else that
this product at the time of its sale by Leviton is free of defects in materials and workmanship
under normal and proper use for two years from the purchase date. Leviton’s only obligation
is to correct such defects by repair or replacement, at its option, if within such two year period
the product is returned prepaid, with proof of purchase date, and a description of the problem
to
Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc., Att: Quality Assurance Department, 59-25 Little Neck
Parkway, Little Neck, New York 11362-2591.
This warranty excludes and there is disclaimed
liability for labor for removal of this product or reinstallation. This warranty is void if this
product is installed improperly or in an improper environment, overloaded, misused, opened,
abused, or altered in any manner, or is not used under normal operating conditions or not in
accordance with any labels or instructions.
There are no other or implied warranties of any
kind, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
, but if any implied
warranty is required by the applicable jurisdiction, the duration of any such implied warranty,
including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, is limited to two years.
Leviton
is not liable for incidental, indirect, special, or consequential damages, including
without limitation, damage to, or loss of use of, any equipment, lost sales or profits
or delay or failure to perform this warranty obligation
. The remedies provided herein are
the exclusive remedies under this warranty, whether based on contract, tort or otherwise.

DESCRIPTION
Ce couvercle télescopique, étanche en cours d’utilisation, est conçu pour protéger en tout temps les prises de l'humidité. Il est en effet doté d’une
charnière coulissante qui permet de le fermer même quand des cordons sont enfichés dans les sorties. Grâce à cette caractéristique unique,
il convient particulièrement bien aux emplois suivants : piscines, cuves thermales, distributeurs automatiques, éclairage paysager ou décoratif,
désinsectiseurs, fontaines, etc.
CARACTÉRISTIQUES
• Plusieurs configurations en un seul produit.
• Goulotte en L entre le couvercle et la base qui assure une protection optimale contre la pluie.
• Joint d’étanchéité fixé à l’arrière de la base afin de faciliter l’installation.
• En position fermée (rentrée), empêche les insectes et les débris d'entrer dans la cavité du dispositif.

REMARQUE :
ce produit doit être installé sur une surface plane et lisse (parement de métal ou de vinyle, clin, contreplaqué, etc.). On ne doit
PAS
le
poser sur des irrégularités (joints, espaces, bosses, etc.) qui pourraient en compromettre l’étanchéité. Se servir d’un scellant à base de silicone si l’aire
d’installation n’est pas adéquate.
REMARQUE :
le couvercle s’installe sur une boîte de format standard, au moyen des vis de montage de la prise, ou sur une boîte de type FD, à l’aide
de quatre vis du marché.
