Notice!
Mount the BCL 504
i
with oscillating/deflection mirror in such a way that the outlet window of
the barcode reader is parallel to the object. This will result in an angle of inclination of approx.
25°.

Mounting location
ª
When selecting a mounting location, pay attention to:
• Maintaining the required environmental conditions (temperature, humidity).
• Possible soiling of the reading window due to liquids, abrasion by boxes, or packag-
ing material residues.
• Lowest possible chance of damage to the BCL 504
i
by mechanical collision or
jammed parts.
• Possible extraneous light (no direct sunlight or sunlight reflected by the barcode).

Devices with integrated heating
ª
For devices with integrated heating, also observe the following points:
• Mount the BCL 504
i
in a way which provides maximum thermal isolation, e.g. using
rubber-bonded metal.
• Mount in such a way that the device is protected from draughts and wind; mount addi-
tional shields if necessary.
Notice!
When installing the BCL 504
i
in a protective housing, it must be ensured that the scanning
beam can exit the protective housing without obstruction.

Barcode
±25°
The BCL 504
i
should be mounted in such a way that the scan-
ning beam is incident on the barcode at an angle of inclination
greater than ±25° to vertical.
