Process data transfer
POWERLINK transmits process data, parameter data, configuration data and diagnostic data
between the managing node and the controlled nodes. Depending on their time-critical behaviour,
the data are transmitted via different communication channels.
• Process data are transmitted via the process data channel.
• Process data serve to control the Inverter Drive 8400 motec.
• The transmission of process data is time-critical.
• Process data are cyclically transferred between the managing node and the controlled nodes
(permanent exchange of current input and output data).
• The managing node can directly access the process data. In the PLC, for instance, the data are
directly assigned to the I/O area.
• Up to 6 process data words (max. 12 bytes) can be sent or received.
• Process data are not saved in the Inverter Drive 8400 motec.
• Process data are e.g. setpoints, actual values, control words, and status words.
