4. The rear fan assembly is attached to the chassis by four rubber mounts. Break or cut the rubber mounts

and gently pull the rear fan assembly out of the chassis.

Note:

A new rear fan assembly comes with four new rubber mounts.

Installing the rear fan assembly

To install a new rear fan assembly, do the following:

1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server and removing the server cover” on page 41.

2. Remove the old rear fan assembly in your server. See “Removing the rear fan assembly” on page 85.
