Using the on-screen input methods

You can use either the following visually displayed keyboard provided by your operating system to help you
input text, numbers, symbols, and other characters.

• On-Screen Keyboard: Type

On-Screen keyboard

into the search box to open it.

• Touch keyboard and handwriting panel: Tap the keyboard icon in the Windows notification area to open it.

To configure the input language, do the following:

1. Go to Control Panel.

2. Tap

Clock, Language, and Region

3. Follow the instructions on the screen to configure the input language.

Attaching an Ethernet cable

To attach an Ethernet cable to your tablet for network connection, you must have a ThinkPad USB 3.0
Ethernet Adapter available.

The ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter is available as option and only shipped with some models. To
purchase a ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter, go to:
http://www.lenovo.com/essentials

The following illustration shows how to attach an Ethernet cable to your tablet through a ThinkPad USB
3.0 Ethernet Adapter.

Attention:

When you connect the ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter to the USB 3.0 connector on your

tablet, ensure that the USB mark is facing upward. Otherwise, the connector might get damaged.

The ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter has two network status indicators. When the green indicator is on,
the tablet is connected to a LAN. When the yellow indicator blinks, data is being transmitted.
