Step 1:

Jack up machine until
one wheel is off the
ground. Block machine
so it cannot fall or roll
over.

Step 2:

Remove dust cap

Remove cotter pin

and castellated nut

Remove shielding ring

, outer bearing

and inspect lubricant.

If a generous amount of
grease is on bearing
and in housing, and if
grease is soft, grease
will not need changing.

If lubricant is caked
and bearings seem dry,
bearings should be
repacked.

To repack bearings:

Remove six lug nuts

Remove wheel and rim assembly

Pull hub

. If hub is tight, use a wheel puller for removal.

Remove shielding ring

and seal

and inspect for damage. Replace if damaged.

Remove nut

and bolt

to remove spindle

Wash cone bearings and inside hub with solvent and wipe clean. When repacking, be sure grease is worked
into roller retainers from edge to fill entire bearing with grease.

Step 11:

Install spindle

and secure with bolt

and nut

. Torque M16 nut to 313 Nm (31.3 kgm).

Step 12:

Install inner bearing

Install seal

and shielding ring

Step 14:

Slide hub

onto spindle

Install outside bearing

Install spindle washer

and castellated nut

Tighten castellated nut until a slight drag is felt when turning the hub. Loosen nut until nearest
slot in nut lines up with cotter pin hole in spindle.

Step 17:

Install and secure cotter pin

and dust cap

Step 18:

Mount wheel and rim assembly

Step 19:

Install lug nuts

. Torque to 270 Nm (27.0 kgm).

Step 20:

Remove blocks and lower jack. Repeat procedure for the other wheel.
