15-8 Controls and Adjustments

Splendimo 550 P

Cutter Bar Flotation - Adjust

Step 1:

Ensure cutter bars are folded out to operating position. Refer to

page 15-4

Step 2:

Turn valve handle

(2)

in front of tongue fully counterclockwise to the open position.

Step 3:

Use tractor hydraulic control to fully raise cutter bars. Keep tractor hydraulics
engaged for a few seconds until pressure reading on gauge

(1)

stops increasing,

then return tractor hydraulic control to the NEUTRAL position.

Pressure reading on gauge

(1)

should hold steady at maximum tractor pressure.

Step 4:

Turn valve handle

(2)

fully clockwise to the closed position.

Step 5:

Move tractor hydraulic control for cutter bar raise/lower circuit to FLOAT position.

Step 6:

Slowly turn valve handle

(2)

counterclockwise until gauge

(1)

pressure reading

begins to decrease.

Cutter bars will lower as gauge pressure decreases.

Step 7:

Turn valve handle

(2)

fully clockwise to the closed position when gauge reading is

approximately 59 bar (850 psi).

Gauge reading may raise slightly at this point, then should hold steady. Repeat
Steps 6–7 as needed.

Step 8:

Move tractor hydraulic control back to NEUTRAL position and check cutter bar
flotation as described on previous page.

Step 9:

Gauge reading is only an indication of system pressure. If further adjustment is
necessary to achieve desired flotation as described on previous page, repeat Steps
1–8 as needed.

A higher pressure reading in Step 7 equates to a lighter flotation setting, lower
pressure equates to a heavier flotation setting.

Cutter Bar Balance Assembly - Adjust

Step 1:

Swing cutter bar assemblies out to operating position and
leave in the raised position.

Step 2:

Adjust spring

(3)

until the cutter bar is heavier on the inside

of the cutter bar assembly than the outside.

To make heavier:

Loosen lock nut

and tighten lock nut

(2)

•

Tighten lock nut

(1)

when after setting is reached.

To make lighter:

•

Loosen lock nut

and tighten lock nut

(1)

•

Tighten lock nut

(2)

when after setting is reached.

Step 3:

Adjust both springs evenly.

Step 4:

Repeat for other side.
