8.4 Be Ready to Stop
Remember that if you get in trouble, you can immediately stop the weld process and then
continue from that same spot when everything is ready again (Section 7.6). Press the WELD
START/STOP foot pedal switch to stop the motors and remove the nozzle at any time .
The wheels will back up 60 pulses and re-expose weld.
You can then re-start weld and continue.
Note:
Use pre-heat PLC touch screen
.
Wait a short period of time for the fabric surface to begin
melting before you start welding, typically about 1/2 second or less, then release your foot
from the lower-right WELD START/STOP foot pedal switch. This will ensure a continuous weld.
Or use the Pre Heat Second function for greater accuracy.
8.5 Relax and Take Your Time
Rotary hot air welding is a fast-paced process that requires plenty of concentration—no matter
how much experience you have. So relax and be sure to maintain a comfortable operating
position. It's always a good idea to take a break when you feel the stress building, or to trade off
with another operator.
9.0 Changing Over Modular Features
This section describes the steps necessary to change over and adjust the SEAMTEK 36’s
modular features. Here you will learn how to remove, reconfigure all lower wheel modules and
change wheel assemblies.
9.1 Reconfiguring Lower Wheel Modules
All lower wheel modules can be reconfigured for various product pattern requirements with a
minimum of time and effort. Each LWM will be covered individually.
Before you begin changing any of the LWMs, press raise wheel on foot pedal placing touch
screen in idle mode. Switch the CLAMP PRESSURE switch and the WELD PRESSURE switch to
OFF and the NOZZLE to OUT. The proper motors are automatically energized when the
LWMs are put into position.
