QDR2 GEN 3 REMOTE CONTROL PROGRAMMING
NOTE: Pull battery protection tab
from the remote before proceeding.
Read and understand each section before performing required steps
NOTE:
There are two versions of the QdR2 for Gen. 3 remote. The multi-channel version can control
up to five channels. The other version control only a single channel. The multi-channel version
has a channel number indicated above each green LED while the single-channel version has no
numbers.
On the multi-channel version, the
CH
(Channel) button is used to scroll through the channels and
the LED will blink for a few seconds to indicate the selected channel. The “ALL” channel (all 5
green LEDs blinking) follows Channel 5 in the selection sequence. Once programmed, a shade
will only respond to the learned channel, or “ALL” channel.
On the single-channel version, all LEDS, pressing the
CH
or any other button will cause the three
middle LEDs to blink.
First Time Setup
NOTE:
During the first time setup, after tugging the shade in step 2, a remote
must
be paired to the shade
within 90 seconds. Otherwise, the shade will time-out and require a Special Learn Command (see
below) to pair a new remote.
1.
Press and release
the
CH
button to select a channel. (Skip channel selection for single-Channel
Remotes.)
2.
Tug
the
hembar
6-10 inches. The shade will jog in response. (Jog is a short up and down
movement.). If you want to assign several shades to the same channel, tug the hembar on each
shade, but remember it must be done within 90 seconds.
3. Use a paperclip to press the
Program
button on the back of the remote. The Channel LEDs will scroll
back and forth when in program mode.
4.
Press and release
the
Up
button. The shade will jog, move to Upper Limit Position, then jog again.
5. Repeat steps 1–4 for each channel that requires shade assignment. If there are additional shades
you want to assign to the same channel that were not tugged in step 2, leave the channel set to the
same number and start at step 2.
Special Learn Command
Special Learn Command is used when the shade needs to learn the ID of an unknown remote. Use the Special Learn Command when:
• The shade times out without being paired to a remote.
• The original remote is no longer used and you need to pair a new remote to that shade.
• You want to add a second remote to control the shade.
1. Start with the shade at the upper limit position. Manually roll shade up by hand if necessary.
2. Use a paperclip to
press
the
Program
button on the back of the remote. The channel LEDs will scroll back and forth when in
program mode.
3.
Press and hold
the
CH
button until the shade moves.
4.
Tug
the
hembar
6-10 inches. The shade will jog in response.
5. Use a paperclip to
press
the
Program
button again.
6.
Press and release
the
Up
button. The shade will jog, move to Upper Limit Position, then jog again.
