In the fol low ing pro ce dure: right- hand and left-
hand are de ter mined stand ing at the rear of the
ma chine, look ing to ward the front.

Use the pivot pin and bush ing to at tach
the cle vis end of the lev el ing rod to the long
end of the front link
age. Se
cure this with a
3/8" bolt.
IMPORTANT
BE SURE THE LEV EL ING ROD IS SET ON THE
LEFT SIDE OF THE FRAME ON MODEL 2225’S,
AND OVER THE CEN
TER OF THE FRAME ON
MODEL 2227’S, WHEN STAND
ING AT THE
BACK OF THE MA
CHINE. THE FRONT LEV
EL
-
ING LINK AGE SHOULD ALSO HAVE ITS LONG
END FAC ING DOWN AND AN GLED BACK.

Put the sleeve end of the lev
el
ing rod
be tween the lev el ing arms on the rock shaft.
Slide the pivot pin through the lev el ing arms
and the sleeve of the lev el ing rod. In stall 3/8"
bolts through the lev el ing arm and the pivot
pin. Se cure with 3/8" nuts.

(2227 Only) In
stall the front lev
eler link
be tween the mast plates:
IMPORTANT
YOU MAY NEED TO LOOSEN OTHER MAST
PLATE CAP SCREWS.
a.
In sert the lev el ing link age bush ing into the
front lev eler link.
b.
Place the front lev eler link be tween the two
mast plates. The short arm should face up
and for ward.
c.
In stall 1" x 7-1/2" cap screw through the top,
for ward mast plate holes, and through the lev -
el ing link age bush ing.
d.
Tighten the mast plate cap screws to speci -
fied torque.
(See Ta ble 2-1)

stall the pull hitch to the main frame
mount
ing brack
ets. Use two hitch pins and
se cure with 1/4" cot ter pins and wash ers.

At
tach the cle
vis end of the ra
dius rod
to the top hole of the lev
eler link
age (short
end). Se
cure the ra
dius rod with the ra
dius
rod pin and bolt.

At tach the sleeve end of the ra dius rod
to the lower ra
dius rod plates with the front
hitch pin and 1/4" cot ter pins.

dius rod to set for level

In
stall ring hitch in hitch as
sem
bly with
bush ings, bolts, wash ers, and nuts.

Hook up the cou pling hoses to a trac tor.
Bleed the hy
drau
lic sys
tem of all air in the
lines or cyl in ders, as fol lows:
a.
Dis con nect the rod ends of the gauge wheel
cyl in ders from the an chors on the rock shaft.
Raise the ends un til they are higher than the
base end of the cyl in ders.
b.
Fully ex
tend and re
tract the cyl
in
ders at
least twice to work the air out of the sys tem.
c.
Re in stall the rod ends of the gauge wheel
cyl in ders. Cy cle the cyl in ders at least twice to
work the air out of the pres
sure side of the
sys tem.
3-7.10
Raise the ma
chine to fully ex
tend the
cyl
in
ders, and to lock the cyl
in
ders on with
the cyl
in
der lock
outs. Se
cure the lock
outs
with the lock out pins
(See Fig ure 3-3).
