TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM
POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Fume Buster won’t start
1. Blown line fuse or tripped
circuit breaker.
2. Low line voltage.
3. Defective switch.
4. Defective blown capacitor.
1. If fuse is blown, replace
with fuse of proper size. If
breaker tripped, reset it.
2. Check power supply for
voltage and correct as
needed.
3. Replace switch.
4. Replace capacitor.
Excessive vibration
1. Dust or particles clogged on
the fan.
1. Clean the fan
Motor overheating
1. Motor not turning freely
(without power).
2. The machine is too close to
the wall
1. Clean fan.
2. Install the machine
100mm/4’’ distance from
the wall.
Fuses are being blown or
circuit breakers are being
tripped
1. Overloading due to binding
of the fan.
2. Defective plug.
3. Defective cord.
4. Defective switch.
5. Motor wired for different line
voltage.
1. Clean the fan or motor
shaft is jammed (replace
bearing).
2. Replace plug
3. Replace cord
4. Replace switch
5. Rewire motor as per wiring
diagram
Loss of filtration
1. Prefilter is clogged.
2. Blower fan may be loose on
motor.
3. Charcoal filter is
contaminated.
1. Change prefilter.
2. Tight the screws.
3. Change the charcoal.
Bad odor
1. Charcoal filtered is
contaminated
1. It is time to change the
charcoal for new one.
