Series 4
As the communication
unit is a device on its own, it is not part of the meter’s
type designation. The customer can exchange it at any time without opening
the certification seal. Each communication unit has its own user manual.
The hardware version is defined with a series designation.
The type designation on the nameplate ends with the series designation S4
for the fourth hardware generation (Series 4). An attached suffix points out
that the meter is equipped with certain non-standard features, e.g. S4s
represents a Series 4 meter with symmetrical terminal layout.
