Environmental Regulations
Mercury**
Mercury is sometimes found in
batteries, relays and switches, Mercury
damages the nervous system and is toxic
in high doses. Requirements state that
batteries may not contain any Mercury.
It also demands that no mercury is pres-
ent in any of the electrical or electronics
components associated with the display
unit.
CFCs (freons)
CFCs (freons) are sometimes used
for washing printed circuit boards. CFCs
break down ozone and thereby dam-
age the ozone layer in the stratosphere,
causing increased reception on Earth
of ultraviolet light with consequent in-
creased risks of skin cancer (malignant
melanoma). The relevant requirement;
Neither CFCs nor HCFCs may be used
during the manufacturing and assembly
of the product or its packaging.
*Bio-accumulative is defined as substances
which accumulate within living organisms.
**Lead, Cadmium and Mercury are heavy
metals which are bio-accumulative.
This symbol on the product
or on its packaging indicates
that this product must not
be disposed of with your
other household waste. Instead, it is
your responsibility to dispose of your
waste equipment by handing it over to
a designed collection point for the re-
cycling of waste electrical and electronic
equipment. The separate collection and
recycling of your waste equipment at the
time of disposal will help to conserve
natural resources and ensure that it is re-
cycled in a manner that protects human
health and the environment. For more
information about where you can drop
off your waste equipment for recycling,
please contact your local city office, your
household waste disposal service, or the
shop where you purchased the product.

Energy saving:
This monitor features an advanced
energy saving capability. When a VESA
Display Power Management Signaling
(DPMS) Standard signal is sent to the
monitor, the Energy Saving mode is ac-
tivated. The monitor enters a single En-
ergy Saving mode.
