Figure 3-59 Tailgate proximity switch

4.

Adjust the proximity switch so that the switch can be triggered by the plate as the cylinder head
moves down. There should be a gap of approximately 3/16 of an inch between the plate and the
switch.

5.

Tighten up both nuts.

6.

Open the tailgate using the tailgate toggle switch located on the control panel and listen if the
warning buzzer and the backup alarm start to beep as you move the switch.

7.

Repeat the procedure if need be.

Adjusting Tailgate Fully Open Proximity Switch (Optional)

The tailgate fully open proximity switch allows the operator to raise the body when the tailgate is fully
open.

This switch is present only when required by different interlocks, such as single ICC bumper for dual
tailgates, etc.

This switch is located on the street side near the tailgate hinge.
