2.8 DURING USE
Ensure that there is no patient contact with this equipment. Doing so can
cause patient and/or operator injury.
Consult the applicable endoscope User’s Manual for warnings regarding
safe use of the endoscope including: excessive temperature rise, use
of energized endotherapy and laser accessories, leakage current and
mechanical hazards.
To prevent electrical shock, the endoscope and/or any other ancillary
device(s) connected to the unit should never be applied directly to the
heart.
If the operation of any component of the endoscopic system fails during
the procedure, or if the endoscopic image is lost or compromised, place
the endoscope’s distal bending section in the neutral position and slowly
withdraw it from the patient.
Continually monitor this equipment and the patient for any irregularities
during the procedure. In the event that an irregularity is noted with the
patient or this equipment, take the appropriate action to ensure the
patient’s safety.
