• Children shall not play with the tool. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by children.
• Whipping hoses can cause severe injury. Always
check for damaged or loose hoses or fittings.
• Optimum air supply is achieved using an air hose
with a diameter of 3/8” or 10 mm. If the air hose is
too long, this may cause lack of pressure and air
supply. Air consumption can be found in the in the
technical specifications for the coil nailer.
• Never carry or drag the tool by its hose.
• Maintain the tool with care. If damaged, have it re
-
paired before use. Please refer to the maintenance
instructions for detailed information on the proper
maintenance of the tool.
• Please keep the tool in clean condition, wipe off
grease and/or oil after work. Do not use any sol
-
vent based cleaner to clean the tool. It is possible
that the solvent will deteriorate the rubber and/or
plastic components on the tool. Greasy handle and
tool body can cause accidental drop of the tool
and injury to nearby person.
• Have your coil nailer serviced by a qualified repair
person using only parts that are supplied or rec
-
ommended by Kyocera Unimerco Fastening. This
will ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.
• The coil nailer should only be powered by com
-
pressed air at the lowest pressure required for the
work progress to reduce noise and vibration, and
minimize wear.
• Use only lubricants recommended by Kyocera
Unimerco Fastening / your local TJEP dealer.
• Only use compressed air. Using oxygen or com
-
bustile gases for operation the coil nailer creates a
fire and explosion hazard.
Foreseeable hazards
• Information to conduct a risk assessment of these
hazards and implementation of appropriate con
-
trols is essential.
• During operation, debris from workpiece and nail/
collation system may be discharged.
• When using the tool for long periods, the operator
may experience discomfort in arms, shoulders,
neck, or other parts of the body.
• Exposure to vibration can cause disabling damage
to the nerves and blood supply of the hands and
arms.
• If the operator experiences symptoms such as
persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing,
aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or
stiffness, do not ignore these warning signs. The
operator shall consult a qualified health profes
-
sional regarding overall activities.
• While using the tool, the operator shall adopt a
suitable but ergonomic posture. Maintain secure
footing and avoid awkward or off-balanced pos
-
tures.
• Hold the tool with a light, but safe, grip because
the risk from vibration is generally greater when
the grip force is higher.
• Residual risks relating to repetitive work hazards
such as duration of use in respect to working posi
-
tions and forces may exist. It is advised to consult
EN 1005-3 and EN 1005-4 for such information.
• Slips, trips and falls are major causes of workplace
injury. Be aware of slippery surfaces when operat
-
ing the tool.
• Proceed with additional care in unfamiliar sur
-
roundings. Hidden hazards may exist, such as
electricity or other utility lines.
• If the tool is used in an area where there is static
dust, it may spread the dust and cause a hazard.
If possible turn the exhaust (E) away from these
areas.
• Where dust hazards are created, the priority shall
be to control them at the point of emission.
Operation instructions
