C.4 Grounding Recommendations
C.4.1 Grounding the terminal
The terminal should be grounded to the ship/hull. For this purpose you may
use a short antenna cable and a grounding kit. Further, the terminal must be
grounded at its grounding stud in order to ensure proper grounding if the
short antenna cable is disconnected. For further information, see

Underwater ground potential that is electrically coupled
to seawater ground by means of a separate ground plate
(e.g. Dynaplate). Also referred to as “counterpoise” for
the SSB/HF aerial system.
