KVAL DL-2 Series Operation/Service Manual

About Set Collars and Templates

When you first receive the machine, you will notice that there will be (10) 48” long, 1” diameter
shafts with 60 set collars. The positioning of the set collars determines the configuration of your
cutout. Once you have positioned the set collars, mark the shaft to identify which cut out it does.

• Loosen the set collars and position them in the approximate position of the dimen-

sions of your light cutout.

• Tighten the set collars.

• Make a test cut, and adjust as necessary. If you have templates for rectangular lights.

• Place the template in the DL-2.

• With power off guide the carriage along the pattern.

• At the four corners of the light pattern position a set collar, and tighten.

• Remove the template and make a test cut.

• Adjust as necessary.

About Y Axis Template Bar(s)

This illustration explains how the machine references the set collars for cuts on the “Y Axis”. This
is not intended for use to set up the 'Y Axis” cut-out dimensions. Y Axis set-up can only be per-
formed using the Y Axis Tape Indicator.
